Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "This photograph, taken from the Statehouse grounds, shows the Ohio Theatre. It opened in 1928 and was designed by Scottish-born architect Thomas W. Lamb, who intended the theatre to be "a palace for the average man." The theatre is in the Spanish-Baroque style and was decorated by Anne Dornan, who spent about $1 million dollars on the furnishings and art. Up until the 1960s, the Ohio Theatre thrived as a movie house. Now it is home to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, BalletMet and the Broadway Series."
