Summary
[edit]DescriptionOffenkowski WWII Photo I.jpg |
English: .World War II photograph of Zbigniew Andre with his first wife 'Genowefa'. Zbigniew was the son of Henryka Andre - sister of Zenon Offenkowski's mother. Zbigniew at the beginning of the war was evacuated to France then to England. He served as a plane mechanic in No 300 (Polish) "Land of Masovia" Bomber Squadron.
After the war "Zbyszek" emigrated with his wife and daughter to Argentina. There he became seriously ill and was hospitalized. His courageous mother travelled from behind the 'iron curtain' on a merchant ship to Argentina and after finding him took him back to Poland. Zbyszek lived and worked in Płock and apparently married a second time. He died in 1989.
