English: Caption on image: N.W. Fisheries Co., Boca de Quadra, Alaska. PH Coll 247.824 Boca de Quadra is an estuary which extends southwest for 34 miles from Keta River to Revillagigedo Channel. It is a Spanish name meaning "estuary of Quadra" given in 1792 by Jacinto Caamano for Don Juan de la Bodega y Quadra, who took part in expenditions and made surveys in southeast Alaska in 1775-1779. This name was adopted by Capt. George Vancouver, who explored this estuary in 1793.
