Description

Vauxhall Astra (Call sign Charlie Mike 42, stationed at Helmsdale) outside Helmsdale Police Station in 1984.

Driver - PC 395 Conner, who then had an immense ELEVEN Years Police Service.

This was the third (and last) Station in the village, having been built to Section Station proportions in the 1970's in the anticipation that Helmsdale would be involved in Oil Rig Supply (and be a really busy port) - it was not, but it showed amazing forward planning for once!

The (2-officer) Station and the two attached Police Houses were recently advertised for sale.
