Description
English: As Mary Johnson quotes on the back of her photo:

'Our Bell Tents. Secured from Army Headquarters in Kingston, rent free - except we had to pay the freight ($24.00). On Mazinaw Lake on Bryce Brown property near Hungry Bay, 1949'.

The 1st North Addington Girl Guide Company was formed in 1948 in Northbrook according to Mary Johnson. The tents were provided on loan from the kindness of Brigadier Ben Cunningham and were tents used during WW1. Several young men, army vets set up the tents including Keith Jackson, Paul Perry and Paul's brother, Gerry.
