Nile goose on 'Rotsvast' made by Rob Ligtvoet in Flevopark Amsterdam

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: I came across this geese family while bringing my son home from daycare.

Nile goose numbers in dutch cities have increased steadily over the last 40 years and they have become a common sight in Amsterdam.

The father goose uses the artwork 'Rotsvast' -that was secretly placed in the park by its maker Rob Ligtvoet more than 30 years ago- as his observation post, in search of danger, or just for the pretty view. The amount of debris on top of the bronze gives away that it has been his favourite lookout spot for a while already.

The photo was made with a Sony XZ1 compact smartphone, with most settings on auto. After making the picture, the exposure was slightly corrected and the contrast was a bit enhanced.
