Summary[edit]

Description These carvings of monkeys decorate the exterior of the sacred stables at Toshogu, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The most famous carving shows the three wise monkeys who hear no evil, see no evil, and speak no evil. Other carvings show monkeys in various situations.
