Description
English: The Philippine Board of Investments (BOI) has a new member in its roster of Board of Governors in the name of Dr. Jaime Aristotle B. Alip (second from right). A 2008 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee, Governor Alip was Founder and Managing Director of the Center for Agriculture and Rural Development Mutually Reinforcing Institutions (CARD MRI). Governor Alip also served key positions in government including Undersecretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Agrarian Reform, and Deputy Executive Director of the Agricultural Credit Policy Council. Trade Secretary and BOI Chairman Ramon Lopez (second from left) said the addition of Governor Alip in the Board will greatly help in the evaluation of investment projects especially those harnessing growth through inclusive business and benefiting micro, small, and medium enterprises. The BOI Board is composed of seven Governors, as provided by Executive Order Number 226 or the Omnibus Investments Code including the Secretary of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), three Undersecretaries of the DTI, and three representatives from other government agencies and the private sector. The President appoints the three representatives from the other government agencies and the private sector with a term of four years.
