Summary[edit]
DescriptionNew Traveller Site, Millfields E5 Jan 2009.jpg |
English: New site caused by their previous one in Waterden Road E15 finding itself in the middle of the 2012 Olympic Games.Unfortunately I took no photo of the depot which stood here. It was of no architctural merit, but had an old fashioned look about it. This spot , along with others on the canal, featured in a Get Cape Wear Cape Fly music video. (Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager, I think it was called) This is the best reference I can find......see at 2 min 28seconds. Other local landmarks in that official video include the Anchor and Hope PH and the old bridge at Spring Hill.
@Sarflondondunc has posted a similar shot, with standard, anti-traveller, formulaic Daily Mail article linked, which has some wondefully irrelevant comments by locals who were not evicted from their houses due to the 2012 Olympics and didn't have to live in a huge building site for so long.
