ght and day Ca-proni bombing pilot. Lieut. Freeman finished his final training atCampo Scuola Cascina Malpensa, Galleratte, Milano, on July 1,1918. He was subsequently ordered to Verona, where he joined the4th Squadron, 11th Group, on July 16. He remained on active dutyon the Italian front until late in Aug., taking part in the raids overPola, the Austrian naval base. During this time he was pilotingthe Caproni planes, and was recommended for the Italian Croce diGuerra on Aug. 20. On Aug. 25 he was detached from the ItalianSquadron, and assigned to the Chief of the Air Service at Tours,France, from Aug. 28 to Oct. 1. On Oct. 7 he was ordered toHandley-Page Night-Bombing Aerodrome in England, where hequalified as B.E.-2E. Pilot on Oct. 10 and as Liberty D.H. 4Pilot on Nov. 5. On Dec. 1, 1918, he sailed for New York. He washonorably discharged at Camp Mills, Garden City, N.Y., on Dec.30, 1918. BRTGGS KILBURN ADAMS Second Lieutenant, Eighteenth Aero SquadronBombing Group, R.F.C.Killed in action, March 14, 1918Son of Major Washington Irving Lincoln and Grace (Wilson)Adams; was born in Montclair, N.J., May 6,1893. He was educatedin the Montclair public schools, and at Harvard College, class of1917. He was leader of the Varsity Musical Clubs at Harvard, anda member of D.K.E. He drove a motor ambulance in France during the summer of1916, and before returning to America to complete his collegecourse he enrolled for service the following year in the LafayetteEscadrille. In May, 1917, he volunteered for active war service in the RoyalFlying Corps, and had his preliminary training at Camp Borden,Can., and Fort Worth, Tex. In Nov., 1917, he received his commis-sion as 2d Lieut., R.F.C, and sailed for England in Dec. He gradu-ated first, in a class of twenty, with an average of 94, the highestgrade which had been achieved up to that time. After completinghis training at various camps
