ARTHUR OGDEN WELLMAN Second Lieutenant, A.S., U.S.A. Son of Arthur G. and Celia Wellman; was born in Brookline, Mass.,Oct. 31, 1894. He was educated at the Newton High School, wherehe was a member of the football, baseball, and hockey teamsthroughout his course. Lieut. Wellman enlisted at Princeton, N.J., in Jan., 1918, andtrained at the Ground School at Princeton, West Point, Miss., andat Dayton, 0. He was commissioned 2d Lieut., A.S.A., in Aug.,1918; but did not, like his brother, see service on the other side, asthe Armistice intervened. EDWARD DAVID JUDD Lieutenant (j.g.), U.S.N.R.F.; Lafayette Flying Corps, Esca-drille Spad 3 (Les Cigognes); British Naval Day BombingSquadron; Northern Bombing Group Son of Dr. David H. and Lillian M. (Hanna) Judd; was born inBoston, Mass., Aug. 31, 1894. He graduated from the RoxburyLatin School, 1912, and from Harvard College, A.B. 1916. On Jan.6, 1917, he enlisted in the American Ambulance Field Service, andwas attached to S.S.U. 4 of that Service until June 28,1917, work-ing in the Argonne and Champagne sectors. On July 6 Lieut. Judd joined the Foreign Legion of the FrenchArmy for Aviation Service, and became a member of the LafayetteFlying Corps. He was brevetted Pilote Aviateur on Oct. 1, 1917,at Avord, France. He went through the acrobatic school at Pau, andthe finishing school at Plessis-Belleville, then joined EscadrilleSpad 3, at Dunkirk, France, on Dec. 1, 1917.
