Description
English: Natural colour image of an Nd:YAG laser prototype at FNSPE CTU, Prague:

The active medium in the center is a highly-doped (ca. 3 %) Nd:YAG crystal with grazing incidence of the beam. The pumping beam comes to the middle of the front surface and is absorbed within few mm under the surface.

The 200 W pulsed 808 nm pumping diode array is mounted in front of the crystal; note the thick power cables for over 150 A.
