English: An undated file photo of a U.S. Navy Towed Pinger Locator 25 system released by the Navy March 24, 2014, in Washington, D.C. The system, which was deployed to assist in search and recovery efforts for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, was designed to locate emergency relocation pingers on downed Navy and commercial aircraft down to a maximum depth of 20,000 feet anywhere in the world. U.S. Navy ships and aircraft were dispatched to assist a multinational search for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared March 8, 2014, over the Gulf of Thailand with 239 people aboard.
