Summary

[edit]
Description
English: "This artifact, a sidescraper (possibly ‘daa’oghe), was found on the Kanuti National Wildlife Refuge (Alaska, USA) in 2006. Sidescrapers were used to clean hides and carve wood and bone. This type of tool was used during several eras so it is not possible to determine its precise age. This example is small (~1½”) and we assume that it may have been used for fine skin work by the ancestors of the Koyukon people roughly 1,000 years ago."
