Description
Italiano: Napoli, Santa Chiara: campanile
Deutsch: Santa Chiara ist ein geistlicher Gebäudekomplex in Neapel und umfasst die Kirche Santa Chiara, ein angrenzendes Kloster und ein Archäologisches Museum. Das Kloster wurde 1310–1340 durch Robert von Anjou erbaut. Die ursprüngliche Kirche wurde im provenzalisch-gotischem Stil errichtet und wurde im 17./18. Jahrhundert von Domenico Antonio Vaccaro barockisiert. Nachdem das Gebäude im 2. Weltkrieg durch alliierte Bombardements fast vollständig zerstört wurde, wurde es originalgetreu wiedererrichtet, die Restaurierungsarbeiten wurden erst 1953 abgeschlossen. Bedeutung erlangte die Kirche als Grablege der Könige von Neapel und Sizilien. Die drei hier bestatteten Könige wurden unter dem Altar, die restlichen Familienmitglieder in einer rechten Seitenkapelle bestattet. 48 Personen liegen hier begraben.
