Cela entraîne la chute de la piastre indochinoise sur les marchés extérieurs et menace toute l'économie de l'Indochine (doublement de la masse monétaire dans les zones concernées). Elle institue également de très lourds droits de douane et exporte tout ce qu'elle peut.
