US NOAAS Oscar Dyson (R 224) fisheries and oceanographic research ship

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Dyson isn't an icebreaker and has a special prop designed to minimize the cavitation and acoustic noise. So, the ship often stays clear of any heavy ice and then we work our zodiacs in and around floes to find seals.
