Stamp of Nicaragua; 1989; aimail stamp stamp of the issue "200th Anniversary of the French Revolution - International stamp exhibition 'PHILEXFRANCE '89' in Paris, France"; stamp motive shows a detail of the painting "Liberty Leading the People" (original title: "La liberté guidant le peuple") by Eugène Delacroix (1798-1863); The painting show the "Marianne" as symbol figure (metronym) of the French Nation which is leading as "Goddess of Liberty" (with the French tricolor in the raised hand) the People (= the French bourgeoisie) through the battle. The painting epitomized the events on the during the French July-revolution (...and not, how by this stamp suggested, the French revolution of 1789).; This painting was created in 1830 in the style of the Romanticism and is contemporary located in the "Musée du Louvre" in Paris (France). Delacroix is seen as important forerunner of the later impressionism, not at least because of this painting.; The exhibition "PHILEXFRANCE '89" took place in the time from 7 July 1989 until 17 July 1989 in the "Parc des expositions de Paris porte de Versailles" in Paris (France).; stamp postmarked by CTO
