Description
English: STS-55 backup Payload Specialist Brümmer, poolside, during JSC WETF bailout
  • STS-55 backup German Payload Specialist Renate Brümmer, wearing launch and entry suit (LES), communications carrier assembly (CCA), and parachute pack, stands on the poolside and watches ongoing activities in JSC's Weightless Environment Training Facility (WETF) Bldg 29. Brümmer is participating in launch emergency egress (bailout) exercises along with other DLR representatives. STS-55 to be flown aboard Columbia, Orbiter Vehicle (OV) 102, is the second dedicated German (Deutsche) Spacelab flight and is designated D2.
