  • In der Ära des Reichspostmeisters Johann von den Birghden entwickelt sich die Freie Reichsstadt Frankfurt zu einem Zentrum des Postverkehrs. Birghdens Plakataushang aus dem Jahr 1634 zeigt sämtliche europäischen Verbindungen an, Informationen über die Abgangs- und Ankunftszeiten sowie verschiedene Tarife für Briefe und Pakete.
