Summary[edit]

Description
English: Drain pipe, Rio Seco, La Gomera (Escuintla). Second half of the Early Classic Period. Ceramic pipe discovered at Rio Seco, La Gomera (Escuintla) similar to those found at Kaminaljuyu. During the Early Classic, as Lake Miraflores dried up, residents designed a more efficient system using pipes to transport rainwater to reservoirs. A drainage system using ceramic pipes was found at Kaminaljuyu running from east to west on the southwest side. A shallow pond was found between Mounds D-III-10 and C-III-9. Not long ago a series of drainages were discovered in Structure V of the Acropolis. Collection of the Miraflores Museum in Guatemala City, an archaeological museum dedicated to the Maya city of Kaminaljuyu.
