Summary[edit]

Description

English: The plate remembers that in this castle of medieval origin was guest, in 1813, the Italian writer and patriot Silvio Pellico. He wrote here the tragedy "Francesca da Rimini".

The plaque reads: "Silvio Pellico / friend / of the Marquis Don Carlo Guasco / grandson of the Countess of Murisengo / Osanna Scozia / guest / in this castle / recalling the ghosts of Dante / wrote Francesca da Rimini / year 1813 / Pose in the year 1916 the Marquis of Bisio Don Francesco Guasco".

The above corbel is part of the castle decoration, which belonged to the Guasco family (from Alessandria) in the 19th century; There is the coat of arms of the house (a gold and blue crocheted) and its motto "C'est mon desir".

The picture was taken in 2003, during a time of abandonment of the building, before restorations that in 2012 returned dignity to the ancient castle.
