Description

Seen outside the yard of Mrs Etta Maud Wicks in Notley Road, I think. She and Percy lived in Rifle Hill nearby and had a fascinating collection of vehicles, including Dennis Lolines and Commer Avengers. FLY was new to Essex Coachways in stratford e15,who also owned FLY756J, plus two later Seddons, RNK742M and LRO497L Wicks used a cream and orange livery. Originally FLY would have carried the white and mustard colour scheme of Essex Coachways Ltd. Behind the coach is a Bedford removal pantechnicon of MOOVIT, which also used the yard. It may also have been a sister business of the Wicks's.

This was a very early Seddon Pennine IV, as was the nearby MVX 423J of Wells who, incidentally, bought CNY394J, one of a 1971 batch of four bought by Bebb, Llantwit Fardre (see also note below by Semmytrailer)
