李梅樹的妹夫，幼年的玩伴。

李梅樹在就讀東京美術學校曾以毛筆書些家書給陳清源說:我因為對你很欣賞，所以答應把親妹妹劉緞嫁給你。 三峽祖師廟自重建初期開始，陳清源是李梅樹的得力助手。他除了監工甚至繪畫工程稿件，可惜較早過世。
