English: Lawn is kept mowed around the wooden stockades and walls of the fort boundary. Fort Stanwix. An area of mown, open lawn surrounds the fort. During the time of significance (1758-1781), the fort stood in a clearing within a hardwood forest. Vegetation on the landscape is modern in design and material, and formal in layout. It does not contribute to the historic significance of the site.
