Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Mouth of the River Avoca. The River Avoca is the longest river that is entirely within County Wicklow. It starts at the confluence of the Rivers Avonmore and Avonbeg at the tourist spot of The Meetings of the Waters, and enters the Irish Sea here in Arklow. Sadly, the River Avoca in Arklow is one of the most polluted in Ireland due to acid mine draining, caused by the former copper mines along the river.
