Morchella brunnea M.Kuo Image location: Yakima Co., Washington, USA Found in unburned mid-elevation mixed-conifer forest. Compared to other M. snyderi specimens we collected, these specimens are relatively narrow with a long stipe relative to the cap height. Their stipes are also not as complex. Phenotypic variants of M. snyderi, or a different species altogether? White balance calibrated using gray card. Used references: Kuo et al. 2012 – simple stipe, unburned conifer forest in the Pacific Northwest
