Moonrise and moonset times, the change of the moon phases as well as sunrise and sunset times for Berlin, Germany during March of 2018

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Diagram showing moonrise and moonset times and the change of the moon phases, i.e. the increase and decrease of the illuminated portion of the moon’s near side, as well as sunrise and sunset times for Berlin, Germany during March of 2018 (incl. April 1st). The diagram shows the connection between visibility times of the moon and the moon phases (e.g. full moon is mainly observable in the night sky, new moon is mainly above the horizon during daytimes). Note that the y-axis for the red dotted curve (‘moon phase’) is to the right. Vertical black lines and moon symbols mark the days and times, respectively, at which the four main moon phases (new moon – 1st quarter/waxing half moon – full moon – 3rd quarter/waning half moon) occur. Also note that the switch to daylight saving time on March 25th was ignored in order to avoid ungainly jumps in the curves.
