Summary[edit]

Description
English: Gefner make's mention of this Sea-Monfter, and faith that hee had the figure thereof from a Painter, who took it from the verie fifh, which hee faw at Antwerp. The head look's verie ghaftly, having two horns, prick-ears, and arms not much unlike a man, but in the other parts it was like a fifh. It was taken in the Illyrian Sea, as it came a thore out of the water to catach a little childe: for beeing hurt by ftones caft by fifher-men that faw it, it returned a while after to the fhore from whence it fled, and there died.
