English: The Gateway of India is an archeological landmark situated
in the city of Mumbai. This mighty structure was built in 1924. The final design is sanctioned by George Wittet in 1914 and the construction of the monument was completed in 1924. It is one the major tourist destination in Mumbai and from here one can take motor boats to reach the Elephanta Caves (another major tourist destination). The Taj Hotel is India’s most prestigious and luxurious hotel and is situated close to the Gateway of India. |
