The MHT is a rapid and simple test that can help identify carbapenem-resistant bacteria, particularly those that produce carbapenemase enzymes like Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenemase (KPC) or New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase (NDM).

Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Modified Hodge Test (MHT) is a laboratory test used in microbiology to detect certain types of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, particularly in members of the Enterobacteriaceae family, such as Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Klebsiella pneumoniae. This test is primarily used to identify resistance to carbapenem antibiotics, which are important drugs for treating serious bacterial infections.
