Summary[edit]

Description
English: Bas relief of the colossal temple built by Antiochus I of Commagene, 69-34 B.C. on the Nemrood Dagh, a spur of the Taurus mountains, p14, Antiochus I shaking hands with (probably) Mithra. Caution: This image from Franz Cumont's The Mysteries of Mithra (1899) which mistakenly gives Roman Mithras co-equivalence with all other Mithra(s)-es. Commagene Mithras is distinct from Roman Mithras and other Mit(h)ra(s)-es.
