Mississippi River view from the 27th-floor observation deck of the Louisiana State Capitol, Baton Rouge

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: View from the 27th-floor observation deck of the Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge one of America's best-known state capitol buildings for two reasons: it is the tallest (the skyscraper-like building rises 34 stories), and it was here that one of the nation's most famous (some would say notorious) governors, populist Huey Long, was assassinated in 1935. The view, looking southwest, shows a riverboat casino operating on the Mississippi River, which snakes through Baton Rouge.

Notes: "Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge" riverboat seen moored to shore.
