A stalk of flowers with thin, hairy leaves and small while flowers with five petals and a yellow circle in the middle. Some flowers have already wilted.

Miner's candle or cockscomb cryptantha can be found on the Nature Trail but it is much more common on the Historic Quarry Trail.
