| Description |
English: Millstone in Woodland near Comrie. The round object in the right foreground is a partially quarried millstone: This was abandoned before it was cut free from the underlying sandstone outcrop. This site is not far from the Milton Burn, which (like many local burns) once had a mill supplying local needs. It would have been logical to source the millstones locally, if suitable stone was available. See also 1722740 |
