This society have their rooms on the corner of Fourth ,Avenue and Twenty-third street. The Association hasa reading-room, which is entirely distinct from thelibrary and department for committee and other meet-ings. Devotional services are held on Wednesday andSaturday evenings. Young men, strangers, and thepublic are cordially invited.

THE AMERICAN GEOGRAPHICAL AND STATISTICALSOCIETY Of New York, hold their monthly meetings at 36Cooper Union. Hon. Charles P. Daly is the President. THE NEW YORK UNIVERSITY Is located on the east side of Washington Square, andforms a noble architectural ornament, being of theEnglish collegiate style of architecture. The Univer-sity was established in 1831, and has ever maintainedits high reputation. It has a chancellor, and a corpsof professors in the various departments of learning.There is also a grammar school connected with theinstitution; also a valuable library, philosophical ap-paratus, &c.
