Description

Microporellus dealbatus (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Murrill

Image location: Turkey Creek Unit, Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas, USA

Growing on the ground in mixed woods. Caps up to 11.5 cm across, firm and woody. Pores small. Stalks up to 6 cm long, hard and somewhat twisted. Microporellus dealbatus looks pretty good for the Id except for the very dark colored stipes, They are usually more like the color of the caps(?)
