Deckel des unteren Kastens angehoben mit Blick auf den Quecksilberbehälter mitsamt Holzstopfen. Es befinden sich nur noch Quecksilberreste im unteren Behälter. Gesamthöhe ohne Haken: 950 mm.

• The height of the mercury column is measured in inches. The scale comprises a range covering a column height of 26 3/12 inch up to 29 3/12 inch.
• Artisan's name: 'verfertigt Peter Franken' (manufactured by Peter Franken).
• 19th century according to local museum (see external link below).
• Rear board: conifer with numerous woodworm holes.
• Lid of lower casing raised to enable view of mercury receptacle and wooden stopper at the upturned end of the glass tube. Only residual mercury content.
• Height without hook: 950 mm, max. width: 112 mm. Height of glass tube: 882 mm.
• Heirloom from grandparents.
• Location: Originally Ohligs, Germany, now Aplerbeck, Dortmund, Germany, both North Rhine-Westphalia.

• Die Höhe der Quecksilbersäule ist in Zoll angegeben. Die Skala umfasst einen Bereich von 26 3/12 Zoll bis 29 3/12 Zoll.
• Darunter Herstellerangabe 'verfertigt Peter Franken'.
• Gebaut im 19. Jahrhundert gemäß Städtisches Hellweg-Museum Geseke (link s.u.).
• Holzbrett von zahlreichen Holzwurmgängen durchbohrt.
• Deckel des Kastens am unteren Ende angehoben, um den Blick auf den Quecksilberbehälter mitsamt Holzstopfen frei zu geben. Es befinden sich nur noch Quecksilberreste im unteren Behälter.
• Gesamthöhe ohne Haken: 950 mm, größte Breite: 112 mm. Höhe des Glaskolbens: 882 mm.
