This Scale, which was originated about twelve years ago by Binet andSimon, two celebrated French psychologists, consists of a series of gradedquestions, or tests, by which mental development may be measured. Itwas standardized by Binet on the children of the middle class of France,and when introduced in the United States, was adapted for American useby Dr. H. H. Goddard, of Vineland, N. J. Dr. Goddard says of the Scale: No one should be surprised that the 10 State Board Charities and Corrections Binet-Simon Measuring Scale for Intelligence has met with criticism andopposition.
