Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Version of the Amharic abugida Menelik II devised with diacritics in place of different letter forms and a cursive style while he was Negus of Shewa at his Ankober residence. All characters can be written with one stroke and all superfluous or useless characters are removed, making the script 40% shorter. One of the earliest forms of writing reform for Ge'ez fidel before later modernizations took place during his reign as Emperor, and reminiscent to later attempts at creating cursive versions of the syllibary.[1]
