Title
medievalcopperkey
Description
English: Copper alloy cast key, probably for a door or casket, dating to the medieval period (c AD 1200-1450). The shank is fairly chunky, with a thickened collar at the shoulder to the bow which is broken off but was probably sub-oval in shape. The key bit is made up of two sets of four clefts divided by a concave channel through the middle. The key is in fair condition and has a dark green patina.
