Medieval silver earscoop and toothpick
Description
English: Medieval toiletry implement in the form of a combined ear-scoop and toothpick. The shank is finely twisted along its top half, the remainder being partly grooved and left plain towards the tapered point of the pick. The implement is silver and dates from the late 14th century. It is badly bent out of shaped. Its reconstructed length is about 85 mm. See Egan and Pritchard, Dress Accessories, (Museum of London 1991) Numbers 758-760, pages 378-379.
