Medieval Buckle
Description
English: Distorted and incomplete medieval copper alloy annular buckle with a central bar and moulded and engraved decoration. The form, the ornament and the nature of the damage and incompleteness are very similar to those of buckles from Stow Bedon, Norfolk (HER 57000; NMS-75E1C5) and Worcestershire (WAW-3F2FC1). For a complete example see Whitehead 2003, no. 271. Diameter 50 - 53mm. 15th century.
