English: Medieval cast silver finger ring fragment, 12th century. Length 12.6mm, width 4.7mm, thickness 0.7mm-1.0mm, weight 0.44g.

Date: 12th century

Description:

A Medieval silver finger ring fragment formed of a flat band with two rectangular panels, one engraved with a circle overlaid with a saltire, and the other with two half-circles and two longitudinal lines, possibly representing an animal head. The panels are separated by a narrowed band decorated with five incised longitudinal lines. About a quarter of the ring is present.

Dimensions: Length 12.6mm, width 4.7mm, thickness 1.0mm, weight 0.44g.

The object fulfils the Treasure Act (1996) in that it is more than 300 years old and has a precious metal content exceeding 10%.
