Title
Medieval mount
Description
English: Medieval bar mount with pendant of copper alloy. Both the bar suspension mount and pendant are present. The rivets are missing. In total it measures 37x13mm and weighs 2.59g.

The mount is trapezoidal, widest at the top at 13mm and gradually tapering to 8.5mm at the bottom. The hook is narrower than the bottom of the mount and rolls backwards. It has two rivet holes, the lower filled with iron corrosion, and is undecorated. The pendant is an undecorated ring with an external and internal diameter of 11 and 7.5mm respectively.

It is similar to 1191 in Egan and Pritchard (1991), although this has a rectangular bar mount. Such mounts date from the 2nd half of the 14th century in London (Egan and Pritchard 1991) and persisted through to the 17th century (Read 1995).
