Notes

The Great War Peace Memento, Parish of Christ Church, Wanganui, 1919 On Sunday July 20 there was a special service for children in Wanganui. Sunday Schools from all parts of the Parish took part, each with its own banner and at the conclusion Peace medals to commemorate the war were distributed. "The medal, which is of bronze, was stamped with a little cross in the centre with the year 1919, and round the cross were the words "The Great War Peace Memento," Parish of Christ Church, Wanganui. The collection at the service was given to the Melanesian Mission, and amounted to 7 14s 4d." Wanganui Chronicle , 24 July 1919, page 5
