English: In 1834, inventor Cyrus McCormick took out a patent for a horse-drawn reaper. After several improvements to the design, he established a harvester factory in Chicago in 1847. In 1902, the McCormick Harvesting Machine Company merged with the Deering Harvester Company and three other businesses to form the International Harvester Company.
