[edit]DescriptionMay Day Stroll. Rubbish in Bury Road, Wood Green. (34029738430).jpg |
I reported the rubbish dumped opposite 35-37 Bury Road, N22 to Haringey Council using the free website <a href="https://www.fixmystreet.com/report/1030751" rel="noreferrer nofollow">FixMyStreet</a>. Veolia, Haringey council's waste contractors replied, telling me that "a crew will be deployed within the next 24 hours to clear the fly-tip. So I assumed the rubbish on the pavement was soon cleared. But this doesn't tell me - nor local residents - whether or not Haringey has is any plans to prevent this location's use as a dumping site - <a href="http://wiki.preventconnect.org/River+Story" rel="noreferrer nofollow">"Upstream" prevention </a> as it's sometimes described. _______________ From : Haringey, Enquiries [1] Sent : 02 May 2017 12:28 To : Alan Stanton Subject : Problem Report: Rubbish dumped opposite 35-37 Bury Road N22 Dear Alan Stanton, Thank you for your e-mail received on 02 May 2017 regarding the fly-tip. It included items about a "dedicated Clear Out Day"; flytippers caught on camera; and reports from members of the public "to help catch fly-tippers". Positive initiatives. But with no indication of overall trends or medium and longer term impact. And for me at least, leaving out a major issue that most rubbish left on our streets appears to be from routine dumping of small quantities by residents. |
