Summary
[edit]DescriptionMasonic Hall - Princes Street Dorchester - geograph.org.uk - 1360415.jpg |
English: Masonic Hall - Princes Street Dorchester On the corner of Princes Street and Allington Street, the classically designed Masonic Hall looks redundant although recently it has been freshly painted. It is not obvious where the main entrance is situated.
Freemasonry in Dorset has been traced back to 1736 when a Lodge met in The Three Crowns Inn in Weymouth. The Province of Dorset with elected Provincial Grand Master was established in 1780 and there now exist 49 Lodges in the county. |
