Each blue dot represents the position of Mars every 24 hr.Retrograde starts at approx. 30 JLY 2003 and ends approx. 28 SEP 2003.The yellow line shows the path of the Earth's shadow (opposite to the sun in the sky).The white double-circle shows the location of the shadow at opposition (or at maximum retrograde) (approx. 30 AUG 2003).
Français : Trajet apparent de Mars dans le ciel durant l'opposition de 2003. Les points bleus représentent la position de Mars de 24 h en 24 h. Le mouvement rétrograde commence le 30 juillet et se termine le 28 septembre. La ligne jaune indique le parcours de l'ombre de la Terre. Le double cercle blanc marque la position de cette ombre à l'opposition (au maximum du déplacement rétrograde), le 30 août. |
